This scholarship was created in memory of Matthew “Matt” Nerney of Bedford, MA.  Matt was a lifelong resident of Bedford and a 1996 graduate of Bedford High School. After high school, Matt went on to Westfield State College.  He graduated in 2001 with a degree in Communications.

Following his college graduation Matt began a career in sales and marketing while at the same time pursuing his dream of becoming a filmmaker. Through his hard work and efforts Matt became a top producing sales representative in his respective industries.  He also became an award winning film producer.  This is a testament of how dreams can come true.

Matt was known in the community for his generosity, sense of humor, and his dedication to his friends and family.  He always put others before himself.  Matt was truly a friend to all.
